How To Energize Your Mind and Body With Water

“I am that person who hates drinking water…

But a few months ago, I began to suspect that chronic dehydration was the reason I continually felt tired and achy.

So, in an effort to overcompensate my way to better life habits, I decided to slosh through a feat known across the internet as the Water Gallon Challenge…

drinking a gallon per day for a month, with the promise of glowing skin and a lot more energy.

Given my taste sensitivities, I went the filtered route and brought with me a hoard of limes, cucumbers, and sea salt…

plus an emergency stash of electrolyte mix and a journal to track my energy, yoga performance, and bathroom breaks.

Here is what happened:”  writes Aleta Burchyski for her article in Outside.

But before you click on her article on the link below, let’s cover a few points.

In her article, you’ll notice she is pictured with a 5 gallon bottle, not a one gallon.  A gallon is our standard gallon of milk (like above).

One gallon is 16 cups of liquid which is TWICE as many cups as the normal advice of drinking 8 cups of water a day.

If you do a Google search on “Water Gallon Challenge,”  you’ll find people have posted pictures of plastic gallon milk containers being repurposed for drinking water plus a lot more information.

I roughly counted about 10 benefits that made Aleta’s life much better.

Of special note she is maintaining hydration at a level well above that before the challenge.

Additionally, there are any number of links in the article and the FAQ section which makes for a lot of good reading including making sure you do not drink too much water.

Note:  There are maintainers all over the world!  I like to look up an article’s location and see places I have never seen or been to before.

In this case Outside has offices in one of my most favorite cities that I have been to multiple time, Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Wonderful place to visit.  Let’s go!  Please  Click Here to go to Santa Fe’s beautiful site.

Enjoy!  TK.  (05/06/20 – 20).
